Recommended Math Resources
Math games are a wonderful, engaging way for students to practice basic math skills and build fluency with math facts. Students are familiar with several math games that they can teach - many require only a deck of cards! Below, I've listed some math games that we play in our class.
- Addition War - Each player lays down two cards. The player with the largest sum wins the other player's cards.
- Make 10 - Players use cards to make as many different combinations of 10. The player with the most combinations wins.
- Speed
- Roll-a-Square - Students use a game board to build rows of 10 cubes. The goal is to make 10 rows of 10 (similar to a hundreds chart).
