Arcade GamesBuilding has taken on a whole other level. Teams have really focused in on their tasks, and are communicating clearly and working together well. (You may notice a surprise visitor below.) A sneak peek at our work: Students provide critique on every game...
Wonder WednesdayOur entire school participated by giving freedom to students to choose their own activities, moving from classroom to classroom and outside as they wish. It was a blast! Wonder Wednesday started several years ago when a community of teachers wanted to provide something different for our students. The dream was for a day when students directed their own schedules and were presented with wondrous ideas and provided opportunities to explore and dive deeply into concepts and activities that they normally would not within their daily schedules at school. Teachers would break from their usual curriculum, and share passions for things outside of the classroom walls. Over the years we have found Wonder Wednesday is most successful when we can offer lots of choices that are diverse and multifaceted. In addition, we aim to provide plenty of options for students of all ages, interests and abilities. Writing WorkshopWe continue to use the writing process to rehearse and draft our fictional stories. Building TimeOur engineers are building their arcade games, collaborating and problem solving. On Friday we introduced a rubric (posted below) to guide their work.
